The Milford boys cross country program strives to produce student-athletes committed to bettering themselves and their school. The work ethic needed to succeed on the cross country course is fostered in each student-athlete in hopes of it spilling over into the academic arena as well. Coach Dave Ackerman has been involved with the program for 25 years as a coach and 4 years as an athlete competing for Milford, where he was a 3 time state qualifier and an all-league runner. He carried his love for running beyond his college career by becoming a successful marathoner, racing in the first 12 Flying Pig Marathons and numerous other road races and marathons around the country. The inspiration that long time Eagles coach Dave Niemeyer provided to Ackerman has driven him to hold all Milford cross country athletes to the highest possible standards in all that they do. Coach Matt Jorden is in his 15th year of coaching and also competed at Milford High School. He was coached by both Coach Ackerman and Coach Niemeyer and hopes to pass on the lessons that he learned from cross country to today’s student athletes. The cross country program invites all young men to join the team in hopes of leading Milford to the top of the ECC, the city, and the state of Ohio in cross country. Those student-athletes with the desire to be the best in the classrooms and the hallways of Milford High School as well as the cross country courses of Cincinnati and all of Ohio should join this outstanding group today! Go Eagles!
